This is what's being said of the artwork of Melissa Markell. Using nostalgic postcards, antique maps, paper ephemera from the 1930's to the present she is creating works of art for the hospitality, corporate, restaurant and medical industries, the movie industry as well as for private collectors, special occasions and more.

Her work is thematic and often historical, telling a visual story with beautiful and subtle details. Her storytelling skills through her artwork can be seen in the Internet Café on the Grand Princess Cruise Ship, and over 300 original works of art are on permanent installation at the Merv Griffin's Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Her largest work is a mixed media wall mural commissioned by the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The mural is 7' by 24' and depicts the downtown L.A. area and the events that take place within the arena.
