About me

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Melissa Markell. I have been creating mixed media collages since 1995. I moved from Los Angeles to Southern Oregon in 2001. My work has been inspired by vintage, retro and unusual imagery that I find at swap meets, online, in old books & postcards and magazines. I combine them with handmade papers, my own sense of whimsy and color to tell a visual story.

I've worked on many exciting projects through the years. Some of my clients have been Merv Griffin's Beverly Hills Hilton, Roosevelt Hotel, Kaiser, Caesar's Palace, Staples Center, Amgen, Toyota, Princess Cruise Lines.
